TAE Arte | Site Art

My real medium is perception.
I want you to see yourself seeing.

—James Turrell

I am interested in making art that deeply reflects my life or everyday things. And if you truly observe something, you will discover endless positions and contradictions.

—Jorge Pardo

Light is not so much something that reveals,
as it is itself the revelation.

—James Turrell

The Transformative Power of Art

Transformation through Art and Education (TAE), was founded by Claudia Madrazo in 2005, devoted to personal and social transformation through art. Along this journey, its engagement with art and nature has expanded through education, research and co-creation projects for biocultural conservation and regeneration.

TAE nurtures our capacities to observe, feel, imagine, create, and awakens our agency and the consciousness to participate in the world.

The site-specific works of art belong to this artistic and cosmological ecosystem. Born from a dialogue with the artists, the land and and culture of Yucatán.

Special Visits

Agua de luz

James Turrell / 2012

A cosmological sanctuary nestled in the Mayan jungle, where James Turrell brings together his artistic and cosmological vision. Light, nature, and the connection between the sky, the earth, and the underworld converge in a singular, immersive experience.

Experience lenght: 8 hours

Tecoh

Jorge Pardo / 2011

A historic hacienda transformed into an inhabitable work of art. A living sculpture where design, architecture, nature, and traditional craftsmanship come together in a continuous aesthetic experience.

Experience lenght: 6 hours

These are living works of art, with their own rhythms, forms and temporalities. Experiencing them unfolds as a gradual process of attunement with place, nature and the work, at the pace that each one proposes. They are shared on specific occasions throughout the year, by invitation and in small groups.
